When I arrived at the viral advert shoot for Bundi's forth coming single "Grils", filming had already started. The Phink TV production team were in full flow. I felt very privileged to be there at the shoot for the promotional ad, it felt so surreal. The Phink TV crew were Ady le Roux and Mark Wilson.

Bundi is in a league of his own and definitely shows his individuality. I couldn't help but wonder if he will he mark his own territory in the UK music scene as a Hip Hop artist. From the age of 13, music has always been his creative influence and has allowed him to express his versatility. A passion of his has always been emceeing to garage records in the early years and then as time went on further developing his career as an artist to getting slots on radio shows. Bundi has recently completed his first solo project titled 'Divide and Conquer'.

He spoke to me about the concept and his journey developing that project. "I felt that music at the present state was just complete rubbish, and if I was to divide the good artists from the bad artists I'd divide and conquer the whole music scene" Bundi explained "there it is... divide and conquer, that's the reason I decided to title my project Divide and Conquer". I liked the analogy and could see that Bundi has big hopes and dreams accompanied with his confidence and clear focus, I'm sure he's definitely on the right track.
With Bundi producing an 18 track sampler for this project, there was a lot of hard work he had to put in to gain industry exposure. "I completed tracks, beats and lyrics going out to places such as open mic nights. That's how I got my name out there, I just had to go out there and make a name for myself". When talking to Bundi it is very clear to see that there is nothing but hard work and dedication to his art, totally inspiring this is and artist who is so real direct and obviously on a mission to success.
My favourite song was 'Can't stop Bundi' There is such inspiration, determination and motivation in this track and it is the beat was banging I really loved it. The song has got great lyrics and I'm sure he has inspired many emcees, rappers and people will listen to his vocals to thinking wow, I know I did. One thing that I can tell you for sure is that this artist different he's actually talking "real talk" and that's what makes him different and stand out from the crowd.

Bundi had some very real tips to share for young aspiring artists and people who are generally trying to break not the media industry. "Top tips, I'd say are stay determined, focused and everyone will appreciate it if your being true to yourself,' something I took from the rappers. Don't adapt to what everyone else is doing because you won't be true to yourself. Too many artists are jumping on the same bandwagon as that's what may be hot at the moment but when that drops they are going to move onto something else. Just stay focused, we all get setbacks but just don't let that be a set back affect you".
'That's who he is' was Bundi's first official video "I wanted to just let everyone know who I am, what I do and why I'm here, that's what I'm about, so you know everything about me. The track was an introduction like an eye-opener. I'm an artist, I don't like to say I rap but I put my thoughts onto beats. You know everyone can rap but what are you really saying? That's the difference, it's got to make sense, everyone can rap but I'm more content driven". It is clear that Bundi is more on the content side and not chatting any old BS on a track, and I'm really feeling that.

Bundi lives in Leytonstone the video shoot also took place in the same ends. "I've got a lot of experiences on road more then some, more negative ones then positive ones" explained Bundi "The streets were fun when we were young until people started dying and that's when things got pear shaped". A very strong but true statement I totally agree with Bundi on this, some of today's youth don't realize they are going to be tomorrows future generation, it's tragic to see so many young lives lost over nothing.
Interviewing Bundi was great we talked about life, his career, music and life values. "I was into music from since I was thirteen, like I had a love for music. I used to think I can't do this, but I just practiced and practiced but until 9 years later... as I'm 22 now. I spit about life in general, I can spit about roads, my mum, violence. My focus in music is life and I'll give you the best of both worlds". He definitely has a lot to offer and a unique voice in an industry where everyone is saying the same old thing.
Bundi's latest track 'Girls' is based on experiences with girls and a comical generalization of the stereotypes of women. "It's basically about the type of girls I've come across, relationships and girls I just know of that's really the main focus behind it". 'Girls' is a real club banger produced by legendary producer Fusion, with lyrical content to think about, the humor factor, and beat that has your head nodding, this is defiantly a track for everyone. Out on November 30th 2009.
